Type of data processed and purposes of processing

1 - Browsing data

The information technology systems and software procedures responsible for the functioning of this site acquire, in the normal course of operation, some personal data that is then transmitted implicitly in the use of Internet communications protocols.

By nature, the information collected could, by association and processing with data held by third parties, enable the identification of users/visitors. Specifically, such information includes, for example, IP addresses, domain names of computers used by users/visitors who connect to the site, browsers used, etc.

This data is only used to obtain information of a statistical nature, in anonymous form, and to monitor that the site is functioning properly. This data is retained for the time required to perform these activities, except in the case of investigations into cybercrimes against the site.

No data deriving from the Web service shall be disclosed or disseminated, except to discharge obligations under laws, regulations or rules of the European Community.

2 - Data voluntarily provided by users

If users voluntarily send their data by filling in an online form or contact form, or their e-mail address for specific requests or access to certain services, this entails the acquisition of the data by the company.

This data will be processed solely to fulfill the request or provide the service in accordance with this policy.

3 - Cookies

Cookie Policy.

What are cookies and why do we use them?

Cookies are small strings of text sent by a Web server to the user's browser when the user accesses the website for the first time. Cookies are then stored on the user’s computer, tablet or smartphone and subsequently retransmitted to the server upon each subsequent connection to the site so as to provide the Web server with information regarding the user’s use of the site. The purpose is to simplify some online procedures such as access to reserved or personalized areas of websites.

Cookies may be classified by:

  • duration: session or persistent cookies;
  • origin: first-party or third-party cookies;
  • purpose: necessary (or technical), statistical or marketing (profiling) cookies.

Specifically, cookies that expire when the browser is closed or that have a limited duration are classified as session cookies. Cookies that instead are stored on the device for a longer period or in a permanent manner are identified as persistent cookies.

The distinction by origin refers to the website or domain that installs the cookies: cookies installed by the website visited are termed first-party cookies, whereas those installed by sites other than that visited by the user are third-party cookies.
Based on the purposes for which they are used, cookies may be broken down into necessary, statistical and marketing cookies.

Necessary (or technical) cookies collect information to facilitate the user's browsing of the website, enabling basic functions such as page browsing. Through these cookies users may, for example, access the profile they have created without having to log in each time. Technical cookies are considered strictly necessary to provide the service requested by the user and therefore cannot be disabled. Pursuant to Article 122 of Legislative Decree No. 196/2003, users’ prior consent is not required.

Statistical cookies help collect information regarding the use of the website. Specifically, such cookies make it possible to analyze site access or visits statistically to understand how visitors interact with the site by collecting and transmitting information in an anonymous, aggregate form.

Marketing (or profiling) cookies are used to monitor website visitors. The aim is to create profiles and advertisements that are pertinent and engaging for each user and thus of greater value to publishers and third-party advertisers. Such cookies may only be installed on the users' device after the users have granted their consent.
